D+H Verwertung GmbH
Crusher Output UP – Dust Output DOWN
Company D+H Verwertung GmbH is a German concern operating in Kamp-Lintfot, and has built up an emission compliant and highly successful construction & demolition / material recycling processing plant – their complex is often used by scholars and companies as an example of how such a plant should operate ! The company started operations as a certified recycle yard in 1996 and today the company addresses all waste issues from A-Z. Recycling to shredding, D+H Verwertung handles all this and more, but still the core competence is C&D recycling. This concerns the processing of construction, road, demolition materials.
Managing Director and Recycling Spezialist Mr Oliver Boy was in the process of finalising his analysis regarding the introduction of a mobile crusher, in order to increase his recycling capacity by 2000t per day and have the other numerous benefits of having a mobile crusher on his site. The higher production as well as the excellent cubicity achieved by the mobile unit will make his Recycling activities even more efficient.
The topic of environmental consequences when processing minerals and the reduction of dust emissions is of great importance and machines that are greener are an investment in the future when it comes to establishing environmental standards.
The principle of reducing the number machines, and especially motors which power these machines, is an important factor. Having one compact machine that handles many different functions also contributes to costs savings and operational effectiveness.
Global analysis of tracked mobile material processing plants, lead him to the mobile Powercrusher jaw crusher produced by the Hartl company in Austria. The Hartl jaw crushers have a unique toggle plate position that creates a four-phase motion in the swing jaw. This so called „Quattro“ effect of the Hartl crusher leads to a minimising of flaky end products produced in comparison to jaw crushers which have conventional toggle plate positions. These results have been officially recognised using Material Sieve Distribution tests and show that when crushing 0/45mm material, the amount of „bad“ material is 31% less than that produced by machines with down-thrust toggle positions. These impressive results as well other advantages of the crusher ie ability to accept larger infeed sizes and reduced wear costs, were some of the reasons that Mr Boy decided to take a closer look at the Hartl company and their products.
A visit to the brand new Hartl Powercrusher facility in St Valentin by Mr Boy, demonstrated the quality and optimisation processes that the Upper Austrian machine manufacturers have put into place when producing their special machines.
Based on the serial product Powercrusher PC1380J, the customer due to application requirements, decided to incorporate a screener and return conveyor. The 1300 x 800mm sized Quattro-Crusher works perfectly in conjunction with the screen box that is hydraulically driven by the crusher itself. The ability to change out the screen meshes in the screener allows for highly efficient screening , product flexibility and product quality. In order to eliminate dust emissions, the complete crusher outlet area as well as the entire screen and return conveyor were covered by a newly designed weather / water resistant protection system. The combination of all these modifications made for a successful test run of the unit on the 6 hectare D+H grounds, the complex is bordered by really busy roads namely the A57, A40 and A42 – this was one of reason for the environmental precautions, but also has the massive advantage for ease of access for contractors needing entry to the recycling facility.

Mr Dominik Hartl, personally handed over the „Made in Austria“ machine at the D+H facility in Germany saying: „ The continual development of our products as well as inviting our customers to be part of this process has always been a strong principle in our company. The modifications made for the D+H unit was a design challenge, but the results are excellent and we will place the combination of crusher and screener for this model into our serial production in order to offer this to our customers and dealers worldwide. We are also very proud to have have made a company of the stature of D+H satisfied with our products and look forward to a long relationship.“

Mr Boy expressed his satisfaction with the Hartl unit and was also happy to be able to serve his customers with such an effective and environmentally friendly processing machine: „ We are more than happy with the unit and the investment has increased our quality of materials as well as capacity – these advantages are passed directly onto our customers. Reliability and going that extra mile for our customers is built into the D+H mentality. We offer fair prices and conditions and building up of long term relationships with our customers is very important - for this we need the most modern plant designs and outstanding service, Hartl have fulfilled both of these requirements and many more. We are extremely satisfied.“
