MILTON CAT – HARTL RELATIONSHIP GETS EVEN STRONGER

You are not buying a machine – you are buying the company, expertise and commitments that are behind the machine“, this is what Glenn Scott –Crushing & Screening Department Head of Milton CAT – had to say during strategic meetings between Milton CAT and Hartl Powercrusher.
The relationship between Hartl and Milton started way back in 2003 and since then the two companies have placed over 50 machines into the New England area, with Milton CAT utilizing and putting their 12 branches throughout the territory to good use.
Milton CAT, as Glenn puts it, is a company that puts VALUE behind the products that they sell – it is the people behind the company that has led Milton to average turnaround figures of between 800 Million – 1 Billion USD per year. The number of people Milton now employs totals roughly 1100, and almost all of them attended the opening of their latest and incredibly modern facility in Batavia, New York.
It is this commitment and growth that impressed Glenn about Hartl Anlagenbau´s latest expansion and developments. Hartl has just completed the construction of a 12000m2 (130000 square foot) production and assembly facility in St Valentin, Austria (roughly 12km from their existing head office). The new facility will be the most modern mobile crushing assembly plant in Europe and will ensure the highest quality machines available on the market. The plant will have the ability of producing up to 350 units per year, of which the first machines have already been constructed and are already in operation worldwide.
This commitment is in-line with the way Milton CAT does things – putting quality and the ability to provide customers with first class back up.
 Milton CAT´s territory comprises of most of the Northeastern Seaboard of the USA and this area is renowned for the very hard and abrasive rocks. Many of the units sold by Milton CAT have been Powercrusher PC1265J and PC1380J mobile jaw crushers. The PC1265 has been popular because of optimal transport dimensions, which allow for quick on-site mobilization.
Glenn Scott expressed interest in Hartl´s latest addition to their product range – the PC21 mobile cone crusher. This will provide an ideal solution to customers working in extremely hard and abrasive rock, due to the reduced wear rates of the crusher chamber liners.
All in all, the meetings were a great success with both companies committed to moving through these tougher times together by adding value to the customers purchase package. „Visits to the production facility in Austria are a great way to get customers to know exactly who and what Hartl stands for, and we will use this in the future.“ stated Glenn Scott.
Glenn Scott is optimistic about 2009 and 2010 saying, „It has been a hard time and times are tough, but I am positive because at the end of the day, the stronger companies will continue to do business because customers see the strength behind solid companies and dealers. People want to know the people behind the machines, and this is something that Milton CAT and Hartl both put high emphasis on.“
 Dominik Hartl, CEO of Hartl Anlagenbau, added a further reason why Milton and Hartl can be optimistic, „The promised investment in infrastructure is going to see the crushing and screening industry come out of these tough times first, besides this, the fact is that recycling in the USA is only starting to take off as a viable way of obtaining aggregates, saving transport costs as well as being a more environmentally friendly way of dealing with materials. It is only a matter of time before customers see that there is real money to be made in the recycling market, and that Hartl has machines that are technologically at the cutting edge of this industry.
